Indian Army and IAF Successfully Complete Joint Training Operation 'Exercise Piercing Arrow' in Arunachal Pradesh

The Indian Army’s Spear Corps, in collaboration with the Indian Air Force, has completed "Exercise Piercing Arrow," an intense joint training exercise in Arunachal Pradesh. The month-long operation aimed to strengthen interoperability, enhance mission readiness, and improve rapid response abilities in this strategically important region of India.

Conducted against the challenging backdrop of high-altitude terrain near the Line of Actual Control with China, the exercise featured coordinated air-land maneuvers and logistics drills. It involved the deployment of key force multipliers, with troops practicing rapid mobilization, precision strikes, and logistical coordination in forward areas to simulate real-world combat scenarios.

Officials highlighted that the training was specifically designed to prepare forces for any potential contingencies in Arunachal Pradesh's challenging operational environment. The area holds significant strategic importance, having been the site of intense engagements during the 1962 Sino-Indian War, particularly in Walong.

In conjunction with these military exercises, the government remains focused on enhancing infrastructure in the northeast. Recent improvements to advanced landing grounds, such as Tawang Air Force Station, now accommodate heavier and more advanced aircraft, thereby enhancing both defensive capabilities and civilian connectivity.

The successful conclusion of Exercise Piercing Arrow underscores India’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its deterrence capabilities and maintain a robust defensive stance along its eastern border. Defence officials have indicated that additional integrated exercises are planned as part of a broader border security strategy.
