Indian Army and CISF Enhance Counter-Terror Skills with Joint Training Program in Pune

The Indian Army, in collaboration with the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), has bolstered inter-agency operational preparedness through a specialized two-week training program focused on Counter Terrorism and Quick Reaction Team (QRT) skills at Aundh Military Station, Pune. Taking place from January 19 to 31, 2026, the course saw the participation of 100 CISF personnel.

This initiative, orchestrated by the Indian Army, aimed to refine tactical skills, enhance response strategies, and equip CISF personnel to handle complex counter-terror and emergency situations. The training emphasized practical exercises, operational coordination, and mission-centric readiness.

The culmination of the course was marked by a Joint Mock Drill designed to test and improve inter-agency coordination and counter-terror capabilities. This exercise included participation from various stakeholders such as CISF, Indian Army, Force One, State Police, Fire Department, Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Bomb Squad, and the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), providing a realistic environment to validate joint response strategies and interoperability among the agencies involved.

An AMAR (Army Martial Arts Routine) demonstration by CISF personnel was part of the proceedings, illustrating the level of physical fitness, combat skills, and overall combat readiness achieved during the training.

The event was attended by prominent CISF officials, including Shri Padmakar S. Ranpise, ADG (South), Shri Abhishek Goyal, IG (West Sector), and Smt. Mamta Rahul, DIG (WZ-1), along with senior officers from the participating agencies. These officials engaged with trainees and officers from the Indian Army and other agencies, expressing appreciation for the exceptional training standards and focus on joint readiness.

The successful execution of the program and subsequent joint exercise underscored the Indian Army and CISF’s dedication to strengthening inter-agency cooperation, enhancing counter-terror capabilities, and ensuring a unified response to emerging security threats.
