Indian Air Force Activates Emergency Landing Facility on Purvanchal Expressway, Enhances Operational Readiness

The Indian Air Force has successfully activated an Emergency Landing Facility on the Purvanchal Expressway, marking a significant stride in its capability to conduct air operations away from traditional airbases.

This exercise underscored several key aspects of operational flexibility, including the ability to utilize highways as alternative runways, which enhances both operational preparedness and mobility. It also demonstrated the capability for rapid deployment in emergency and contingency situations.

The event was attended by Om Prakash Rajbhar, Minister for Panchayati Raj and Minority Welfare, Air Marshal B Manikantan, AOC-in-C, Central Air Command, and Deepak Kumar, CEO of UPEIDA, along with other senior civil and military officials.

The exercise also highlighted the effective coordination between civil authorities and military forces, ensuring a smooth mobilization and execution of operations.
