Indian Air Force Academy Hosts Combined Graduation Parade for 216th Course, Honors New Officers
The Indian Air Force Academy hosted the Combined Graduation Parade (CGP) for the 216th Course today, featuring a review by General Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff. This ceremonial event marked the commissioning of 244 Flight Cadets into the Indian Air Force, including 29 women cadets.
During the ceremony, notable achievements included the awarding of the prestigious Aviators Wings to six officers from the Indian Navy, eight officers from the Indian Coast Guard, and two officers from the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. This highlights the Academy's contribution to fostering cooperation both within India and internationally.
In an unprecedented move, the Chief of the Air Staff commandeered the three-aircraft 'Kiran' formation flypast, adding a unique touch to the ceremony. This act of leadership served as a powerful inspiration for the newly commissioned officers, emphasizing tradition and leadership within the Indian Air Force.
The parade concluded with a remarkable aerial display by the Sarang Helicopter Display Team and the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team, exemplifying the Indian Air Force's dedication to professionalism and operational excellence.
