India Set to Deploy Fourth S-400 Air Defence System in Rajasthan by May End
India is poised to acquire its fourth S-400 Triumf air defence system from Russia by the middle of May. The deployment of this system is anticipated by the end of the month to bolster air defence capabilities in the Rajasthan sector.
Pre-Dispatch Inspection Completed
Officials from the Indian Air Force concluded the pre-dispatch inspection on April 18, after which the system was dispatched from Russia.
Operational Boost Post Operation Sindoor
The S-400 system proved crucial during Operation Sindoor, showcasing its ability to:
| Intercept enemy aircraft and airborne platforms |
| Provide long-range air defence up to 400 km |
| Enhance India’s multi-layered missile defence |
It is reported that India employed multiple long-range missiles during the operation, demonstrating the system’s combat efficiency.
Strategic Deployment and Future Deliveries
