India Neutralizes 1,000 Missiles and Drones from Pakistan: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Lok Sabha on Tuesday, revealing that Indian armed forces successfully intercepted and neutralized a significant aerial attack by Pakistan on May 9, during Operation Sindoor. Modi reported that 1,000 missiles and drones launched by Pakistan were destroyed mid-air by India's advanced defense systems.

During a parliamentary debate on the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack and the subsequent Operation Sindoor, the Prime Minister disclosed, "On May 9, Pakistan launched 1,000 missiles and drones on India. But all of them were destroyed in the air."

Modi commended the Indian Armed Forces for their rapid and accurate counteraction. "We destroyed terror sites deep inside Pakistan within 22 minutes to avenge the Pahalgam attack. Pakistani airbases hit by India are still in ICU and the masterminds are having sleepless nights," he stated.

The Prime Minister further emphasized India's international diplomatic support during the crisis. He pointed out that in the United Nations, only three countries backed Pakistan, whereas India received global support, highlighting Pakistan's isolation regarding cross-border terrorism.

Additionally, Modi criticized the opposition, particularly the Congress party, for what he described as a lack of support for the armed forces and instead targeting him for political purposes. He remarked that their statements risked undermining the morale of the soldiers.

This disclosure comes in the context of increased regional tensions and serves as the first official acknowledgment of the magnitude of Pakistan's missile and drone offensive during the conflict.
