India Conducts Successful Agni I Ballistic Missile Test from Odisha

India achieved a significant milestone on Friday with the successful test firing of the Agni I short-range ballistic missile, as reported by the Ministry of Defence. The launch took place at the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur.

According to officials, the test confirmed that all operational and technical parameters of the missile were met successfully.

The Strategic Forces Command, tasked with managing and deploying India's strategic missiles, oversaw the test.

The Agni series is a vital part of India's strategic deterrence arsenal. The Agni-1 missile, with a range of approximately 700 kilometers, is designed for swift reaction and strategic missions.

India's Agni missile series, which includes Agni-1 through Agni-4, covers a range from about 700 km to 3,500 km and is already part of the nation's operational capabilities.

This successful test underscores India's indigenous missile development and strategic readiness in the face of changing regional security challenges.
