India and Malaysia Launch Harimau Shakti 2025 Joint Military Exercise in Rajasthan

The joint military exercise Harimau Shakti 2025 between India and Malaysia has officially started at the Mahajan Field Firing Range in Rajasthan. Scheduled from December 5 to 18, this exercise is designed to enhance defence cooperation and improve interoperability between the participating armies.

The Indian Army's representation primarily includes troops from the DOGRA Regiment, while the Malaysian side is represented by personnel from the 25th Battalion of the Royal Malaysian Army.

The focus of this year's exercise is on sub-conventional operations as per Chapter VII of the United Nations mandate, with a particular emphasis on coordinated counter-terrorism responses. Participants will engage in various tactical drills such as cordon-and-search operations, search-and-destroy missions, and heliborne insertion techniques.

The training program also incorporates Army Martial Arts Routine (AMAR), combat reflex shooting, and yoga sessions to enhance physical conditioning and operational readiness.

Key elements of the training involve the securing of helipads, the synchronization of joint casualty evacuation procedures, and the honing of drills crucial for counter-terrorism scenarios. The overarching aim is to ensure effective cooperation, reducing risks to life and property while adhering to UN peacekeeping principles.

The exercise will facilitate an exchange of best practices across various combat skills, promoting mutual learning and strengthening tactical synergy. It is anticipated to deepen the defence collaboration between the Indian Army and the Royal Malaysian Army, further solidifying the bilateral relationship between the two countries.
