India and Indonesia Launch 10th Garuda Shakti Joint Special Forces Exercise
The 10th edition of the GARUDA SHAKTI exercise between India and Indonesia began on December 3, 2025, at the Special Forces Training School. This event marks a significant step in the ongoing defense collaboration between the two countries.
This joint training, which spans two weeks, is focused on boosting the interoperability between the Indian Army's Special Forces and the Indonesian Special Operations units. The primary goal is to exchange best practices in mission planning and executing counter-terrorism operations, especially in semi-mountainous regions.
The exercise comprises key training components such as heliborne operations, combat shooting drills, the use of drones and counter-unmanned aerial systems (C-UAS), and coordinated tactical maneuvers adapted to demanding operational settings. This collaboration aims to hone combat skills, enhance coordination, and foster mutual understanding of each nation's operational doctrines.
GARUDA SHAKTI remains a crucial platform for deepening military cooperation and reinforcing the strategic partnership between India and Indonesia.
