INDBATT Medical Team Holds Healthcare Camp for Locals at Kawkaba
The Indian Battalion medical team, known as “Prachand Paanch,” conducted a Medical Assistance Camp at Kawkaba, providing healthcare support to members of the local community, especially those with limited access to medical facilities.
At the camp, the team offered consultations, treatment and necessary medicines to residents, helping address immediate healthcare needs in a setting that was accessible and supportive. The initiative gave local people an opportunity to receive medical attention without having to travel to distant facilities.

The camp was warmly received by residents of Kawkaba and also created an opportunity for direct interaction between the Indian peacekeepers and the local population.
Beyond the healthcare services, the initiative helped strengthen civil-military cooperation and build greater mutual trust and goodwill between INDBATT personnel and the community. Such outreach activities are a regular part of the responsibilities undertaken by Indian Army contingents deployed on United Nations peacekeeping missions.
Alongside operational duties, these contingents frequently conduct humanitarian and community-focused programmes, with medical assistance camps forming an important component of that effort, particularly in areas where people face difficulty accessing healthcare.

The Kawkaba initiative reflected INDBATT’s focus on supporting local communities through humanitarian assistance while building stronger ties with the people in its area of responsibility.
