RIMC Cadets, Sikkim Children Visit Rajputana Rifles Centre in Delhi Cantt
The Rajputana Rifles Regimental Centre at Delhi Cantonment recently welcomed cadets from the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), Dehradun, along with a group of children from Sikkim, in visits aimed at promoting national integration and introducing young Indians to the traditions of the Indian Army.
The RIMC cadets visited the centre as part of their Midterm Hike, while the children from Sikkim were on a National Integration Tour. Both groups were given an opportunity to experience a military setting and to learn about the history, traditions and ethos of one of the Indian Army’s oldest infantry regiments.

During the visit, the young visitors were introduced to the regiment’s military heritage and to the values that have shaped generations of soldiers. The interaction also exposed them to the discipline, camaraderie, courage and spirit of service that are central to life in the Armed Forces.

According to the Indian Army, the visits are designed to bridge the gap between the Armed Forces and the country’s youth by giving students from different regions an opportunity to interact with military personnel and gain first-hand exposure to Army institutions.
For the RIMC cadets, many of whom aspire to careers in the Armed Forces, the tour offered a closer look at regimental traditions and military life. The National Integration Tour for children from Sikkim similarly reflected efforts to connect young people from different parts of the country with institutions of national importance.

The Army said such initiatives help strengthen appreciation for military heritage, national unity and the spirit of service among young participants.
The engagement also fits into the Army’s broader outreach efforts, which include educational visits, national integration tours and other programmes intended to support youth empowerment, leadership and nation-building.
