Havildar Gajendra Singh's Sacrifice in Operation TRASHI-I Honored by Armed Forces
Havildar Gajendra Singh of the prestigious 2 PARA Special Forces (SF) lost his life in a valiant counter-terrorism mission in the Singpura region of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir.
The mission, named Operation TRASHI-I, was initiated following specific intelligence about the presence of Pakistan-backed terrorists, likely associated with Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), in the dense forests near Chatroo. The night of January 18-19, 2026, witnessed security forces engaging in an extended gunfight with the militants. The terrorists, positioned advantageously on higher ground, launched attacks using grenades and automatic weapons, injuring eight soldiers mainly through splinter wounds.
Amid the intense confrontation, Havildar Gajendra Singh showcased remarkable bravery and determination. Despite sustaining grave injuries, he heroically fulfilled his duties until he succumbed to his wounds while receiving care at a military facility.
The Nagrota-based White Knight Corps solemnly honored the fallen soldier, expressing: "The GOC, White Knight Corps, and all ranks pay solemn tribute to Havildar Gajendra Singh of the Special Forces, who made the supreme sacrifice while gallantly executing a Counter Terrorism operation in the Singpura area during the ongoing Operation TRASHI-I on the night of 19 Jan 2026. We honour his indomitable courage, valour and selfless devotion to duty and stand firmly with the bereaved family in this hour of profound grief."
Search efforts in the region are ongoing, with additional reinforcements brought in, including helicopters, drones, and sniffer dogs, to track down the terrorists and neutralize them. A suspected hideout has been discovered nearby, containing rations and supplies, suggesting a prolonged stay.
The nation pays tribute to Havildar Gajendra Singh's ultimate sacrifice in safeguarding the country's security. His courage will be celebrated with pride.
