Gentleman Cadets from OTA Chennai Engage with Madras Engineer Group & Centre in Bengaluru

Officers Training Academy (OTA) cadets, including those from allied foreign nations, from Chennai visited the Madras Engineer Group and Centre (MEG) in Bengaluru on December 27 as part of their Mid-Term Hike Programme.

This visit was organized to acquaint the upcoming officers with the distinguished history of the Madras Sappers and the significant role of combat engineers in the Corps of Engineers during both peacetime and wartime.

Throughout their stay, the cadets explored heritage exhibits that detailed the Madras Sappers' rich history, brave traditions, and operational accomplishments. They also observed technical demonstrations showcasing the Corps' capabilities in mobility, counter-mobility, survivability, and battlefield engineering.

Senior officers and instructors conducted interactive sessions to provide insights into modern combat engineering, disaster response, infrastructure development, and the evolving role of engineers in contemporary warfare. This exchange allowed cadets, including those from allied nations, to gain a comprehensive understanding of the professionalism, adaptability, and technical expertise of the Corps.

The visit motivated and inspired the Gentleman Cadets, reinforcing the enduring ethos of the Madras Engineer Group and Centre while enhancing their understanding of jointmanship, leadership, and service values that are integral to the Indian Army.
