General Upendra Dwivedi Inaugurates Digital Transformation and AI Projects at Indian Army's DGIS
General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of the Army Staff, made a visit to the Directorate General of Information Systems to assess the current initiatives focused on digitalisation, the integration of artificial intelligence, and the overall technological transformation within the Indian Army.
In the course of his visit, General Dwivedi inaugurated the Systems Integration and Test Facility. This facility is designed for the development, testing, and validation of the Command Information and Decision Support System, which is intended to improve operational decision-making and integrated battlefield management.

The visit also saw the launch of six new-generation applications by General Dwivedi. These applications are aimed at enhancing operational effectiveness, integrating logistics, generating structured data, and automating administrative processes within the Army.

General Dwivedi also took the opportunity to engage with interns from the Indian Army Internship Programme for the year 2025–26, expressing his admiration for their professionalism and innovative contributions to building indigenous capabilities.

Praising the Directorate General of Information Systems, General Dwivedi underscored the significance of technology-driven transformation, collaboration between the Army and academia, and indigenous innovation in developing future-ready military capabilities, which are essential for maintaining operational readiness in contemporary warfare scenarios.
