General Upendra Dwivedi Engages in Defence Cooperation Talks at Sri Lanka Army Headquarters
General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of the Army Staff, conducted a review of a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Sri Lanka Army Headquarters in Colombo as part of his official visit to the country.

In the course of his visit, General Dwivedi held discussions with BKGM Lasantha Rodrigo, the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army. The talks centered on enhancing bilateral defence cooperation, strengthening military-to-military connections, and reaffirming both nations' commitment to regional peace and security.

As part of efforts to deepen cooperation, military vehicles, ambulances, and training simulators were presented during the meeting. These contributions aim to improve operational readiness, training efficacy, and humanitarian assistance capabilities, demonstrating the practical aspects of the India–Sri Lanka defence alliance.

The visit highlighted the strong ties of friendship between the two armies, emphasizing their shared focus on capacity building, interoperability, and collaboration in confronting mutual security challenges in the region.
