General Upendra Dwivedi Assesses Operational Readiness in Poonch Sector's Forward Areas
General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), conducted an inspection of the forward areas in the Poonch Sector to evaluate the operational readiness and overall preparedness of the units stationed along the Line of Control.
During his visit, General Dwivedi examined the current deployment strategies, surveillance initiatives, and security protocols. His assessment aimed at gaining a thorough understanding of the sector's readiness at the ground level. The effectiveness of various operational systems and measures designed to ensure continuous vigilance in the challenging terrain were also scrutinized.

While interacting with the troops stationed in the forward areas, General Dwivedi praised their exceptional professionalism, readiness, and unwavering dedication. He expressed his admiration for the high state of preparedness maintained by the personnel, despite the difficult and hostile conditions, acknowledging their commitment to their duties.

Accompanied by the Northern Command Army Commander, the Core Commander of XVI Corps, and the General Officer Commanding of the White Knight Corps, the Army Chief also visited forward posts along the Line of Control within the Poonch Sector.

As part of the visit, General Dwivedi engaged with civil dignitaries, ex-servicemen, and Veer Naris at the Poonch Brigade Headquarters. This interaction reinforced the enduring relationship between the Indian Army, its veterans, and local communities. The visit highlighted the Army leadership's ongoing focus on maintaining operational readiness, fostering community engagement, and ensuring peace and security in the sensitive border regions.
