Fire and Fury Corps Hosts INNO-YODHHA 2026 to Boost High-Altitude Innovation

The Indian Army’s Fire and Fury Corps held the INNO-YODHHA: Idea, Innovation, Indigenisation, Research & Development (I3R&D) Competition 2026 from September 7 to 10, bringing together personnel to present field-tested ideas aimed at solving operational problems in some of the country’s most demanding high-altitude areas.

Organised under the theme “Together Towards Excellence,” the competition was designed as a platform for soldiers and other innovators to share practical, indigenous solutions drawn from their own experience in difficult operational environments. The emphasis was not on abstract concepts, but on ideas that could be applied to real challenges faced by troops deployed in harsh terrain.

The innovations showcased during the event were focused on improving functional efficiency and strengthening the overall operational capability of formations working in extreme conditions. In high-altitude areas, troops routinely deal with severe weather, difficult terrain and logistical constraints, and the competition sought to encourage personnel to identify those on-ground problems and develop workable responses tailored to actual requirements.

The Fire and Fury Corps used the initiative to reinforce the Army’s growing focus on indigenisation and self-reliance. By encouraging field formations to contribute directly to the development of solutions, the competition reflected a broader effort to tap into the practical experience of personnel serving in forward areas and convert that experience into tools and methods that can improve military effectiveness.

Personnel posted in such environments often work under conditions that place heavy demands on equipment, manpower and supply chains. INNO-YODHHA is intended to create a structured space for them to turn those experiences into innovation, research and development outcomes that can have direct operational value.

By linking operational experience with innovation and indigenisation, the Fire and Fury Corps aims to transform field challenges into practical solutions that can enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of troops. The INNO-YODHHA 2026 initiative also fits into the Indian Army’s wider push to build a culture in which personnel at different levels are encouraged to contribute ideas for improving preparedness, especially in strategically important high-altitude regions.
