Military Intelligence, in coordination with Daulatabad police, arrested a 48-year-old woman for allegedly impersonating an Army officer and misleading the public by attending functions in uniform.

The accused, identified as Ruchika Jain, a resident of Dharampur in the city, was apprehended following a raid on her residence on Thursday morning. Police officials revealed that Jain routinely wore a Captain’s rank uniform and introduced herself as a retired Army officer at social and cultural events, thereby misleading citizens and gaining public recognition.

During the raid, officers seized a significant collection of military attire and accessories. The haul included a complete set of combat uniforms with Captain’s stars, Para Special Forces insignia, a nameplate marked “Ruchika Jain,” two ceremonial officer dresses adorned with medals and ribbons, combat shoes, belts, gloves, face masks, army socks, and even a war memorial photograph.

Investigators further discovered a fake identity card from a private security agency featuring her picture in Army uniform. Trophies inscribed with “Captain Ruchika Jain” and mementos from local organisations showcasing her in combat dress were also recovered.
