A group of 112 Student Officers, accompanied by the Directing Staff from the esteemed Higher Command Course, visited the Headquarters Eastern Command at Vijay Durg in Kolkata today. This visit is a crucial part of the course curriculum, designed to offer prospective senior military leaders a comprehensive understanding of operational realities, strategic perspectives, and theatre-level planning within the Indian Army.

Upon their arrival, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Senior Officers of the Eastern Command. These officers engaged with the student officers, offering valuable insights into the current security environment, operational readiness, and the geopolitical challenges faced in the Eastern Theatre. The briefing outlined the multifaceted role of the Command, which is responsible for overseeing India’s extensive eastern frontier, including its borders with China, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal.
