DGMS (Navy) Surg Vice Admiral S. Shankar Evaluates Healthcare and Innovations at INHS Asvini
Surgeon Vice Admiral S. Shankar, the Director General Medical Services of the Navy, paid his first visit to the Western Naval Command from June 22 to June 24, 2026. During this visit, he inspected INHS Asvini, a leading tertiary care hospital of the Indian Navy located in Mumbai.
Throughout his visit, Vice Admiral Shankar conducted an extensive evaluation of the hospital's patient care facilities, its readiness for operational demands, the state of its medical infrastructure, training programs, research projects, and ongoing medical innovations tailored for military use.
