Director General of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Lt Gen Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, has visited Ladakh to review the progress of the upcoming NCC Training Academy at Phyang in Leh.
The DG NCC inspected the work being carried out at the site and assessed the pace of infrastructure development for the academy. During the visit, he also took stock of the various construction activities underway to support the future training facility.

Officials briefed Lt Gen Virendra Vats on the current status of the project and the infrastructure being planned for cadet training at the academy. He further reviewed the overall development of the facility and the training arrangements that are expected to be put in place once it becomes operational.
The proposed academy at Phyang is expected to add to NCC training capacity in Ladakh, a region where high altitude and difficult terrain place special demands on cadet training and support infrastructure. The facility is intended to provide better training opportunities for NCC cadets in the area.

The visit reflected the NCC’s continuing effort to expand and strengthen its training infrastructure in strategically important and geographically challenging areas such as Ladakh.
