DG NCC Lt Gen Virendra Vats Reviews Major Initiatives at Maharashtra Directorate Visit
Lt Gen Virendra Vats, the Director General of the National Cadet Corps (DG NCC), paid a visit to the Maharashtra Directorate on December 10–11, 2025. Upon his arrival, he was greeted with a Tri-Services Guard of Honour and praised the cadets for their remarkable display of discipline, drill capabilities, and overall presentation.

During his inspection, Lt Gen Vats assessed key initiatives currently being implemented at the Directorate. These include the expansion of NCC units, efforts to increase the number of female cadets, ongoing infrastructure improvements, the incorporation of drone training into the curriculum, and a proposal to establish a Remount & Veterinary Corps (RVC) Regional Pre-Training Organization (RPTO) in Nagpur.

He also acknowledged the Directorate's significant accomplishments and attended a cultural event performed by the cadets. This performance highlighted the diverse talents and ethos of the NCC. Lt Gen Vats engaged with the cadets, encouraging them to maintain their pursuit of excellence with a focus on discipline, commitment, and a spirit of national service.

In addition, the DG met with Lt Gen D. S. Kushwah, AVSM, SM, the General Officer Commanding of HQ MG & G Area. Their discussions centered on enhancing collaboration between the Army and NCC, reinforcing their joint dedication to empowering the youth and shaping their contributions toward the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
