DG BSF Daljit Singh Chawdhary Engages with IPS Officers on BSF's Role and Challenges

Director General of the Border Security Force (BSF), Daljit Singh Chawdhary, along with senior officials, conducted a comprehensive session with Indian Police Service (IPS) officers from the 74th and 77th RR Batches at the BSF facility in Nizamuddin, New Delhi.

The session aimed to familiarize the IPS officers with the BSF's rich history and its integral role as India's frontline defense force. This included discussions on the BSF's extensive operational responsibilities along international borders.

The officers gained insight into the values, culture, and significant contributions of the BSF towards maintaining national security.

Senior BSF officers elaborated on the various operational challenges the force encounters, such as navigating difficult terrains and high-risk zones, combating cross-border infiltration and smuggling, and responding to hybrid threats. The BSF's adaptability in managing situations along the India–Pakistan and India–Bangladesh borders was also highlighted.

The discussion also focused on the technological advancements the BSF is adopting to enhance border management. The DG BSF outlined the organization's initiatives, including modern surveillance systems, AI-enabled monitoring, smart fencing projects, advanced communication networks, and integrated command and control systems. These efforts underscore the BSF's dedication to improving security, responsiveness, and operational efficiency in a changing threat environment.

This visit served to strengthen the collaboration between the Indian Police Service and the BSF, enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation for national security and law enforcement objectives.

The IPS officers expressed their appreciation for the informative session, which provided them with valuable insights into the operations and future strategies of the world's largest border guarding force.
