Dehradun Traffic Diversion Plan Announced for IMA Passing Out Parade, December 6-13

The Dehradun Police have issued a comprehensive traffic diversion plan in anticipation of the Passing Out Parade at the Indian Military Academy (IMA). This plan will be enforced from December 6 to 13, designating the areas around the IMA campus as a Zero Zone with strict vehicular movement restrictions during specified times.

Officials have announced that traffic will be diverted on the following dates and times:

Date Time
December 6 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM
December 9 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM
December 11 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM
December 12 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM
December 13 6:00 AM to 12:30 PM

During the parade timings, no vehicular traffic will be permitted towards the IMA, as Zero Zone restrictions will be in full effect. For vehicles traveling from Ballupur to Premnagar, the designated diversion route is via Rangharwala Tiraaha, Mithi Beri, and Premnagar. Vehicles heading from Premnagar towards the city will be redirected through Premnagar Chowk, Daru Chowk, Mithi Beri, Shimla Bypass, and Niranjanpur Mandi. Under certain circumstances, traffic from Premnagar may be allowed through the IMA campus via the MT Section Gate towards Rangharwala.

Heavy vehicles coming from Selakui and Bhaauwawala will be diverted via Dhulkot Tiraaha, Singhniwala, and Nayagaon to reach the city. Similarly, heavy vehicles traveling from Dehradun to Vikasnagar will be redirected using the Shimla Bypass towards Vikasnagar and Dharmawala.

On December 13, the Indian Military Academy will host the prestigious Passing Out Parade, commissioning officer cadets from India and allied nations. In the days leading up to this event, various ceremonial functions are scheduled to take place within the academy.

Authorities have urged commuters to adhere to traffic regulations, consider alternate routes, and plan their travel ahead of time to minimize inconvenience.
