Defense Minister Rajnath Singh Commemorates Vijayadashami with Troops at Barakhana in Bhuj

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh marked the eve of Vijayadashami by joining soldiers in Bhuj, emphasizing the crucial role of adaptability, discipline, and technological preparedness in addressing contemporary security challenges.

During the traditional Barakhana, Singh extended festival greetings and lauded the bravery and determination of the Kutch residents, reflecting on their sacrifices during the 1971 war, the Kargil conflict, and their impressive recovery following the 2001 earthquake.

In his speech, the Defence Minister pointed out that modern threats such as terrorism, cyber warfare, drone technology, and information warfare call for not just advanced weaponry but also mental resilience and a commitment to ongoing learning.

“Wars are not won by weapons alone, but by discipline, morale, and constant readiness. Embrace new technologies, make training an integral part of your routine, and prepare yourself for every situation,” he advised the troops.

Reaffirming the government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and modernization of the armed forces, Singh stressed that the well-being of soldiers and their families is a top priority. He further noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, India is swiftly advancing towards self-reliance in defence, with the dedication of the armed forces being pivotal to building a strong and developed nation.

The event saw the presence of Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Southern Army Commander Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, and Corps Commander, 12 Corps, Lieutenant General Aditya Vikram Singh Rathee.

Singh’s engagement with the troops underscored the significance of discipline, training, welfare, and technological adaptation, while paying tribute to the unwavering spirit of Bhuj and Kutch as lasting symbols of courage.
