Defence Minister Highlights Operation Sindoor as a Testament to India's Anti-Terror Resolve

On Friday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced Operation Sindoor as a pivotal change in India's stance on terrorism, declaring that the time for passive responses has concluded. During his address to soldiers of the Northern Command in Udhampur, Jammu & Kashmir, Singh asserted that the operation exemplifies New India's assertiveness and willingness to tackle terrorism with both might and strategy.
Singh commended the seamless coordination between the Armed Forces and intelligence agencies in dismantling terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. He attributed this policy shift to the unparalleled bravery and dedication of Indian soldiers.

“Operation Sindoor is more than just a military action; it is a firm warning to terrorists and their sponsors that India will not accept any assault on its unity and integrity,” he stated, adding, “This is merely a pause, not the conclusion. I want my neighbouring country to recognize this.”
The Defence Minister also highlighted the continuous sacrifices made by Indian soldiers, characterizing their lives as filled with courage and dedication to the nation.

During a Barakhana organized on the eve of the International Day of Yoga 2025, Singh urged troops to maintain a focus on physical and mental wellness, linking their personal strength to national security. “If you are strong, our borders will be strong. When the borders are strong, India will be strong,” he remarked.
The event showcased vibrant cultural performances, including the Khukri Dance, Bhangra, Kalari Pattu, and Jhanz Patak. The occasion was attended by Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi, Northern Command GOC-in-C Lt Gen Pratik Sharma, alongside senior Army officials.
