Commodore Urooj Athar Evaluates Gujarat Naval Area's Educational Facilities and Initiatives
From June 8 to 9, 2026, Commodore Urooj Athar, serving as Commodore Naval Education, conducted a visit to Porbandar and Okha to evaluate the educational infrastructure and academic initiatives within the Gujarat Naval Area.
During the visit, Commodore Athar assessed the facilities at Navy Children School in Porbandar. The review encompassed various educational institutions and initiatives aimed at improving learning outcomes and promoting the holistic development of the naval community.

In his engagements, Commodore Athar met with Rear Admiral Sritanu Guru, the Flag Officer of the Gujarat Naval Area, as well as school leaders, education officers, and staff members. The discussions were centered on strengthening academic standards, enhancing educational infrastructure, and cultivating an environment that supports the comprehensive growth of students.
The agenda included a detailed examination of ongoing educational programs and initiatives tailored to foster academic excellence, character building, and co-curricular involvement for children of naval personnel.
