On December 29, Commodore Subhal Nathan, NM, took over as the commanding officer of INS Zamorin, the Base Depot Ship for the Indian Naval Academy located in Ezhimala, Kerala.

Commodore Nathan, recognized as a specialist in gunnery and a recipient of the Nao Sena Medal for gallantry, brings to his new role a wealth of operational and staff experience. His leadership history includes commanding the major naval units INS Kalpeni and INS Deepak, where he showcased his adeptness in various maritime capacities.

Throughout his notable career, Commodore Nathan has undertaken significant staff roles at Naval Headquarters, the Western Naval Command, and the Maritime Domain Awareness Centre. In these positions, he has been instrumental in advancing operational planning and enhancing maritime security and domain awareness.

In his capacity as Commanding Officer of INS Zamorin, Commodore Nathan is tasked with delivering essential administrative, logistical, and training support to officer cadets at the Indian Naval Academy.
