Commodore Rajat Kumar Takes Command of INS Dega, Enhancing Naval Aviation Operations
On January 9, 2026, Commodore Rajat Kumar assumed command of INS Dega from Commodore Shivaji Yadav. The transition took place during a ceremonial parade at the naval air station in Visakhapatnam.
Commodore Kumar, a qualified MiG-29K pilot, became the 21st Commanding Officer of INS Dega, one of the Indian Navy’s key air establishments on the eastern seaboard.
