Commodore N Hariharan Takes Command of INS Venduruthy as 47th Commanding Officer

Commodore N Hariharan has officially taken over as the 47th Commanding Officer of INS Venduruthy and the Station Commander of the Kochi Area. He replaces Commodore V Z Job in these roles.

Having joined the Indian Navy in 1996, Commodore Hariharan is a graduate of both the Naval Academy in Goa and the Command and Staff College in Indonesia. Specializing in Gunnery and Missile Warfare, he brings a wealth of operational and leadership experience from various naval capacities.

Throughout his career, he has led several key naval operations, commanding vessels such as INS Cora Divh, INS Karmuk, and INS Ranvijay, which has provided him with significant sea command expertise. His notable shore-based roles have included serving as the Defence Adviser in Muscat, leading the Navy Training Team at the Defence Services Staff College, and being the Principal Director of Training at the Indian Naval Academy.

Upon taking up his new position, Commodore Hariharan emphasized his dedication to maintaining the esteemed traditions of the Indian Navy, alongside enhancing training, administration, and operational capabilities in the Kochi Area. His appointment reflects the Navy’s commitment to professionalism, continuous leadership, and sustained operational preparedness at one of its crucial shore establishments.
