COAS General Upendra Dwivedi Awards COAS Medallion to Cadet Priya Kumari at Republic Day Camp 2026
General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, the Chief of the Army Staff, attended the Republic Day Camp 2026 parade on January 14, 2026, where he engaged with cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) representing various parts of India.
During his visit, General Dwivedi praised the cadets for their discipline, enthusiasm, and dedication to the nation. He motivated them to strive for excellence in all endeavors while maintaining values such as integrity, leadership, and service. Additionally, he recognized and awarded outstanding cadets for their exceptional achievements.
Among those honored was Cadet Priya Kumari, the Band Captain of the NER Directorate’s all-girls brass band, who received the COAS Medallion. This accolade acknowledges her leadership, dedication, and hard work, highlighting the increasing participation of young women in the NCC and the broader Armed Forces community.
The event emphasized the enduring relationship between the Indian Army and the NCC, reaffirming the commitment to develop disciplined, confident, and socially conscious youth who will become future leaders of the nation.
