General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, the Chief of the Army Staff, attended the Republic Day Camp 2026 parade on January 14, 2026, where he engaged with cadets from the National Cadet Corps (NCC) representing various parts of India.

Among those honored was Cadet Priya Kumari, the Band Captain of the NER Directorate’s all-girls brass band, who received the COAS Medallion. This accolade acknowledges her leadership, dedication, and hard work, highlighting the increasing participation of young women in the NCC and the broader Armed Forces community.
