CISF Personnel Suspended After Woman Accuses Him of Secretly Photographing Her on Delhi Metro

New Delhi: A CISF personnel deployed with Delhi Metro security has been suspended with immediate effect after a woman accused him of secretly photographing her inside a moving coach, an allegation that sparked a confrontation with passengers and was later captured on video and widely circulated on social media.

The incident took place late on Saturday night, August 15, 2026, near AIIMS Metro Station on the Yellow Line. According to passenger accounts and police sources, the woman confronted the uniformed Central Industrial Security Force personnel after suspecting that he had taken her photographs without her consent. He initially denied the charge, but the situation escalated when passengers insisted that he open the photo gallery on his phone. Images of the woman were allegedly found there, prompting a heated exchange inside the coach.

In the video that went viral on Sunday, the woman and several commuters are seen surrounding the personnel and demanding that the pictures be deleted. “What is this? Delete my photos,” the woman can be heard saying. The argument quickly turned chaotic as some passengers tried to snatch the phone while the personnel resisted and attempted to move away, leading to a scuffle inside the metro coach.

Some passengers later alleged that the CISF personnel took out his service pistol and pointed it towards them either during the confrontation or while exiting onto the platform. However, Metro Police sources denied that claim, saying no such weapon-related incident took place.

Metro Police received a PCR call at around 12:40 am on Sunday and sent a team to the spot. The woman did not file a formal complaint, but police informed CISF authorities about the allegations made by her and by other passengers present during the incident.

CISF action

The CISF unit responsible for Delhi Metro security responded through a statement on X, saying the matter had been viewed with “utmost seriousness at the highest levels.” The force said the concerned personnel had been placed under suspension with immediate effect and that a detailed inquiry had been ordered. It added that further action would depend on the findings of the investigation.

The force did not identify the personnel involved or provide any immediate details about the inquiry.

The episode has drawn attention to passenger safety and the conduct expected of security personnel deployed in the Delhi Metro network, particularly because CISF staff are responsible for security across the DMRC system. Incidents involving alleged misuse of authority or privacy violations often trigger strong public reaction, especially when video evidence circulates widely online.

Although the woman has not pursued a formal police complaint, the internal inquiry ordered by CISF is expected to examine the phone gallery evidence, CCTV footage from the coach and station, and statements from passengers who witnessed the confrontation.

As of Sunday evening, no further details had been made public about the identity of the suspended personnel or the progress of the inquiry. The matter remains under investigation by CISF, while Metro Police have recorded the incident after the PCR call.
