CDS Releases Doctrinal Guides for Special Forces and Airborne Operations at RAN SAMWAD Seminar
In a significant move aimed at boosting coordination and interoperability among the military branches, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan unveiled two crucial doctrinal documents on Wednesday. The publications are titled Joint Doctrine for Special Forces Operations and Joint Doctrine for Airborne & Heliborne Operations.
The announcement was made at the RAN SAMWAD Tri-Service Seminar held at the Army War College in Dr Ambedkar Nagar. The seminar was attended by prominent military leaders, including Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, and Vice Chief of the Army Staff Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh.
These doctrines were developed under the guidance of the Doctrine Directorate at Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (IDS), with active involvement from the Army, Navy, and Air Force. They set out key principles, operational strategies, and frameworks aimed at enhancing synergy in Special Forces missions and airborne operations.
General Chauhan praised the expertise and flexibility of the military services, highlighting the doctrines as essential resources for planners, commanders, and operators in the changing landscape of warfare. “These publications represent a significant advancement in joint operational capability, ensuring that India’s Armed Forces are well-equipped to address emerging security threats with accuracy and determination,” he stated.
The newly released doctrines are anticipated to serve as force multipliers by promoting greater cooperation among the three Services and enhancing India’s readiness in contemporary military engagements.
