CDS General Anil Chauhan Opens Upgraded Eastern Command Museum in Kolkata
On Tuesday, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan officially opened the refurbished Eastern Command Museum at Vijay Durg in Kolkata. This development is significant in the effort to preserve and highlight the history of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command.
The museum, now upgraded, offers engaging and interactive displays that vividly depict the Eastern Command’s longstanding record of operational excellence. It focuses on the bravery, valor, and ultimate sacrifices made by Indian armed forces personnel in various conflicts and missions.
Organized into five galleries with chronological themes, the museum offers a detailed account of Eastern Command’s storied past, operational achievements, and its extensive and varied geographic jurisdiction. These galleries document important military operations, leadership achievements, and contributions to national security.
