Captain Kulvinder Singh Bali Takes Charge of INS Dronacharya
On May 14, 2026, Captain Kulvinder Singh Bali officially took over the leadership of INS Dronacharya, the Indian Navy's Gunnery and Missile training institute situated in Fort Kochi. This transition of command was from Commodore Manav Sehgal, VSM.
Prior to this new assignment, Capt Bali held the post of Commanding Officer at the Base Depot Ship INS Gomantak, part of the Goa Naval Area.

Capt Bali, who is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, comes from a lineage of Gunnery specialists and joined the Indian Navy on January 1, 2004.

His educational background includes graduation from the Defence Services Staff College in Wellington and the Army War College in Mhow.

Throughout his service, Capt Bali has commanded a number of vessels, including INS Kora, INS Ajay, and XFAC 83, which has enriched his operational and leadership skills.
INS Dronacharya is instrumental in equipping naval personnel with advanced training in gunnery, missile operations, and combat systems, thereby enhancing the Indian Navy's operational capabilities.
