Captain Atla Mohan Takes Command as Naval Officer-in-Charge, Karnataka
Captain Atla Mohan assumed the role of Naval Officer-in-Charge (NOIC) for Karnataka on February 17, 2026, adding another milestone to his impressive naval career.
Captain Mohan, a graduate of the Indian Naval Academy and a specialist in Communication, brings a wealth of operational, command, and staff experience to his new position. Throughout his career, he has undertaken numerous significant roles within the Indian Navy.

His prominent assignments have included serving as the Commanding Officer of INS Tabar and INS Khukri, where he led key warships in various operational capacities. In addition, he was the Defence Attaché at the Embassy of India in Doha, where he contributed to defense diplomacy and bilateral relations. He also served as the Command Administrative & Personnel Officer at the Headquarters Western Naval Command.
In his role as NOIC Karnataka, Captain Mohan will oversee naval operations, coastal security coordination, and maritime interests in Karnataka, enhancing the Indian Navy's efforts to protect India's western coastline.
