BSF Neutralizes Six Pakistani Drones, Seizes Over 2 Kg of Heroin at Punjab Border

In a significant counter-smuggling operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) successfully intercepted six drones from Pakistan and seized more than 2.3 kilograms of heroin along the India-Pakistan border in Punjab's Amritsar district. The incidents unfolded during the night of July 17 and into the early hours of July 18, with drones detected near the villages of Pulmoran, Roranwala Khurd, and Dhanoe Kalan. The BSF used technical counter-drone systems to intercept and neutralize the unmanned aerial vehicles as they crossed into Indian airspace.

During intensive search operations, authorities recovered four DJI Mavic 3 Classic drones and 1.744 kilograms of heroin from fields near Pulmoran. Additionally, another DJI drone carrying 596 grams of heroin was discovered in Roranwala Khurd. A sixth drone was brought down near Dhanoe Kalan in the early hours of July 18. In total, the operation resulted in the recovery of six drones and 2.340 kilograms of heroin, delivering a substantial setback to Pakistan-based narco-terror networks attempting to penetrate Indian territory using aerial routes.

BSF officials attributed the successful operation to the prompt actions of their vigilant personnel and the effectiveness of advanced surveillance and drone-jamming systems. The confiscated drones and illegal substances have been transferred to local law enforcement agencies for further investigation. The BSF reiterated its dedication to safeguarding India's borders and preventing the use of drones for cross-border drug trafficking.
