Brigadier's Family Incident in Delhi Sparks Concerns Over Police Response and Public Safety

An incident involving a reported assault on the family of an Indian Army Brigadier in South West Delhi's Vasant Enclave has raised concerns about the response of law enforcement in the area.

The family lodged a written complaint stating that the event took place on the night of April 11. They confronted two individuals who were allegedly drinking alcohol inside a car parked near their home.

According to the complaint, the situation intensified when these individuals reportedly summoned more people. A group of approximately 7–8 men allegedly arrived in several vehicles, attacking the Brigadier's son and injuring him, and also physically assaulted the officer.

The family claims that despite contacting the emergency helpline (112) and a PCR vehicle arriving at the scene, there was no effective intervention by the police, even as the incident unfolded in their presence.

After the assault, the family approached the Vasant Vihar police station to file a complaint. They allege that there was a delay in registering an FIR and that they were not given prompt medical attention.

Those injured were subsequently taken to a military hospital for treatment.

A formal complaint has been filed, and an investigation into the matter is anticipated. The incident has sparked significant concerns about public safety, law enforcement response, and accountability.

This case underscores the necessity for immediate police action, strict measures against public disturbances and assaults, and adherence to proper procedures, especially in violent situations.

Authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident.
