Brigadier NC Khuman Meets Assam Minister Biswajit Daimary on Pending NCC Issues Ahead of Guwahati JSRD Meeting

Brigadier NC Khuman, Group Commander of NCC Group Headquarters Guwahati, met Assam Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Biswajit Daimary at the Assam Secretariat to discuss a set of long-pending issues concerning the National Cadet Corps and the Government of Assam.

The meeting centred on matters relating to the NCC that have remained unresolved with the state government for some time. It provided a forum for the NCC Group Headquarters and the state Sports and Youth Welfare Department to review these issues and identify points that needed attention.

The interaction also came ahead of the upcoming JSRD meeting, which is scheduled to take place in Guwahati on 15 October 2026. The Secretariat meeting served as a preparatory discussion before that gathering, allowing the concerned sides to examine NCC-related matters in advance.

Officials from the Sports and Youth Welfare Department of the Government of Assam were also present during the meeting. Their participation brought together representatives of the NCC and the department responsible for sports and youth welfare, enabling both sides to discuss the outstanding issues in a coordinated manner.

The discussions underlined the need for continued coordination between the NCC and the Assam Government in dealing with pending matters and in ensuring that the relevant issues are taken up before the scheduled JSRD meeting.

With the JSRD meeting due in Guwahati on 15 October 2026, the Assam Secretariat engagement stood as an advance consultation on matters concerning the NCC and the state government.
