Bomb Threat Preparedness Drill Conducted at Surat Airport

A Bomb-Threat Mock Exercise (BTME) was recently held at Surat Airport to assess the effectiveness of emergency response operations, inter-agency coordination, and preparedness in the case of a bomb threat.

The exercise involved the participation of 174 personnel from various essential organizations, such as the Airports Authority of India (AAI), CISF, Surat City Police, District Administration, IndiGo Airlines, Customs, Bureau of Immigration, and local fire, medical, and Bomb Disposal and Detection Squad (BDDS) teams.

Under the guidance of airport and CISF officials, the exercise aimed to evaluate emergency response strategies, communication systems, and the collaboration among involved agencies. Various scenarios were simulated to ensure personnel could efficiently handle potential threats, prioritize passenger safety, and maintain smooth airport operations.

Authorities emphasized the significance of such drills in enhancing preparedness, optimizing response times, and ensuring effective coordination among security, administrative, and operational teams during emergencies.

The successful conduct of the BTME at Surat Airport underscores the collective commitment of all participating entities to uphold rigorous safety and security standards for air travelers.
