Bihar STF Arrests Rajkishore Shah in Alleged ₹46 Lakh Army Recruitment Fraud Case
Patna: A man wanted in an alleged ₹46 lakh job fraud case was arrested in Vaishali district on Sunday night during a joint operation by the Bihar Special Task Force, Vaishali Police and Patna Police.
Police identified the accused as Rajkishore Shah, also known as Raghuvendra Kumar, a resident of Jahangirpur Salkhanni village under Mahua police station. He was picked up from the Mahua locality, and officers recovered a mobile phone from him at the time of arrest.
The arrest is linked to a case registered at Danapur police station on May 19 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. According to police, the case was filed after a gang allegedly cheated students by promising them jobs in the Army, Railways, Multi-Tasking Staff and other government departments.
The Bihar STF said it received intelligence from Army Military Intelligence, Danapur, on October 3 regarding the gang’s activities. Investigators later concluded that Rajkishore had a role in the case, following which he was arrested.
Police said the alleged gang had taken around ₹46 lakh from students in the name of job appointments. Officials also said two fraud-related cases are already registered against Rajkishore at police stations in Patna and Vaishali districts.
Raids are under way to trace and arrest other members of the alleged gang.
