Assam Rifles Honors Lt. Obed Thangminsiam on Indian Army Commissioning

A ceremony to honor Lieutenant Obed Thangminsiam was held by Assam Rifles at the Sector Headquarters in Churachandpur. This event aimed to celebrate the young officer's commissioning into the Indian Army, acknowledging his dedication and effort to join the ranks of the army's officer cadre.

Lieutenant Obed Thangminsiam hails from Hiangzou village in the Churachandpur district of Manipur. He officially became part of the renowned 10 Guards on March 7, 2026, after completing his training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, a leading institution for Army officer training.

The Sector Commander of Assam Rifles led the felicitation ceremony, commending Lieutenant Thangminsiam on his resolve, resilience, and dedication to national service. The commander remarked that his success mirrors the strong spirit of the youth from Manipur and the broader North Eastern region.

At the event, the Sector Commander also urged young people from the area to draw inspiration from Lieutenant Thangminsiam’s achievements and consider a career in the armed forces, stressing that with dedication, discipline, and perseverance, they can fulfill their aspirations of serving the nation.
