Assam Rifles Celebrates Raksha Bandhan with School Students in Kiphire, Nagaland

The Assam Rifles marked Raksha Bandhan with students and teaching staff of BC Olive School in Kiphire, Nagaland, on August 29, 2026, in an outreach event aimed at deepening ties between the force and the local community.

The celebration brought together 89 students and 14 members of the teaching staff, along with Assam Rifles personnel, in what was described as an atmosphere of affection, mutual respect and togetherness. A special feature of the event was the participation of four specially-abled girl students, who tied Rakhis to Assam Rifles personnel. In return, Riflewomen of the Assam Rifles tied Rakhis to the school’s boy students, adding to the inclusive character of the celebration. The exchange reinforced the festival’s message of mutual care, respect and solidarity, extending the ritual beyond a one-way gesture and involving students across the school community.

The event also allowed students to interact more closely with Assam Rifles personnel and experience the festival in a shared community environment.
