Assam Rifles Amends Guidelines for 2025 Technical and Tradesmen Recruitment Rally

The Assam Rifles, through the Office of the Director General, has released a significant update on May 27, 2025, regarding the ongoing Technical and Tradesmen Recruitment Rally for 2025. This amendment, as stated under Memo No. L1/2016/IA Branch (Rectl)2025/SS21, aims to refine the recruitment process in line with India's advancing digital governance practices.

A key modification in this corrigendum is the shift from a traditional written examination to a computer-based "Written Test" with a maximum score of 100 marks. Detailed in Paragraph 7(23)(c) of the revised notification, this change represents a modernization move that aligns with current national trends in competitive testing. The test will occur in various shifts, with candidates shortlisted in a 1:4 ratio against vacancies based on their initial results. This approach takes inspiration from standards used by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

In a notable development, clerk vacancies have been removed from this recruitment notice, which historically have been part of Assam Rifles' hiring strategies. Analysts suggest this omission may be part of a wider personnel reallocation strategy, potentially redistributing administrative roles to other central armed police forces like the Border Security Force (BSF). This follows a 2023 directive from the Ministry of Home Affairs focused on optimizing staff deployment within paramilitary groups. Although there is a possibility of reintroducing clerk positions in future recruitment phases, no official confirmation has been provided.

The Recruitment Rally for 2025 by Assam Rifles targets the recruitment of 215 Group B and C positions across various technical and trades categories. The online application period ran from February 22 to March 22, 2025, following the original announcement in Employment News on February 22. Initially set to start in late April, the rally will now proceed according to the updated schedule and selection processes.

Applicants are encouraged to stay informed by checking the official Assam Rifles website (www.assamrifles.gov.in) or by reaching out to the recruitment helpline at 0364-2530119 or 09436116911 during office hours from 0900 to 1730 for any further details.

This corrigendum for 2025 underscores Assam Rifles' evolving recruitment strategy, focusing on transparency, digital advancement, and heightened competitiveness. As the "Sentinels of the Northeast," the force remains committed to operational excellence and national service in one of India's most strategically crucial areas.
