Assam Rifles Advances Youth Empowerment in Manipur with Skill Development Graduation in Imphal
The Assam Rifles has successfully completed its Skill Development Programme 6.0 in Imphal, marking a significant achievement in its efforts to enhance the vocational skills and employability of local youth. This initiative is a part of the Assam Rifles' larger civic action efforts in the Imphal Valley, conducted in partnership with We Care Skill Solutions.
The programme's conclusion was celebrated at a ceremony in Bamon Awang Leikai, Imphal East district. This twelve-week training course concentrated on the hospitality and retail sectors, which are known for their robust employment potential. The programme aimed to equip local youth with the necessary skills to secure respectable employment both within and outside the region.
In total, 44 participants graduated from the programme, comprising 19 boys and 25 girls, highlighting the initiative's inclusive approach and commitment to offering equal opportunities to all youth in the region.

At the ceremony, the graduates received certificates from the National Skill Development Corporation, along with formal employment offers, marking their successful transition from training to professional employment.
The newly trained individuals have secured positions in prestigious organizations across India, such as the Altruist Hotel in Bengaluru, Reliance Hospital in Mumbai, Aayush Resort in Pune, Zone by Park in Chennai, and Sunday Hotel in Gurugram.
High-ranking officials and troops at the event congratulated the graduates for their perseverance and dedication during the training. They urged the young professionals to uphold high standards in their new roles and to represent Manipur with pride in their various posts.
The graduates were also encouraged to serve as ambassadors of Manipur's rich cultural heritage as they embark on their new careers. This initiative has not only provided employment but also created a connection between the youth of Manipur and opportunities across the nation.
This was the sixth successful training programme run by Assam Rifles since June 2024, enabling nearly 400 youths from the region to find gainful employment.
The achievement of Skill Development Programme 6.0 underscores the Assam Rifles' ongoing dedication to youth empowerment, social development, and community engagement in Manipur. By integrating skill training with direct employment support, the programme offers a practical path for young individuals to establish stable careers and contribute significantly to their families and society.
The initiative also highlights the role of Assam Rifles beyond its security responsibilities, reflecting its commitment to peace-building, confidence enhancement, and socio-economic development in the North East.
