Arunachal Pradesh Governor Commends Gajraj Corps for Historic Mt Kangto Ascent
On December 8, 2025, the Honourable Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, Lt Gen KT Parnaik (Retd), met with the triumphant Mt Kangto Expedition Team at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar. During this interaction, he acknowledged and congratulated the team for their remarkable achievement.

The mountaineers, part of the Gajraj Corps, made history by successfully reaching the summit of Mt Kangto, the tallest peak in Arunachal Pradesh. This ascent was particularly notable as it was the first to be accomplished via the southern approach. The Governor commended the team for their bravery, stamina, and outstanding spirit of adventure.

Lt Gen Parnaik lauded the expedition members for their extraordinary determination while navigating the challenging terrain, and he emphasized the pride that the state feels in their significant achievement.

The event underscored the importance of this accomplishment for Arunachal Pradesh, celebrating the unwavering grit of the Indian Army’s mountaineering team.
