Army vs. Parliament Cricket Match Unveiled to Celebrate Operation Sindoor Victory

The trophy for the much-anticipated Operation Sindoor Cup was unveiled today in Kanpur. This event marks the beginning of a symbolic cricket match between Army XI and Parliament XI at the historic Green Park Stadium, set for June 29. This occasion is dedicated to commemorating the Indian Armed Forces' significant victory in Operation Sindoor, a strategic military initiative against Pakistan-backed terror groups conducted in May 2025.

Scheduled in the spirit of national unity and pride, the cricket match is designed to celebrate India's military achievements and uplift public morale following the terror attack on April 22 in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Operation Sindoor, which was launched in retaliation, involved targeted air and ground operations across Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, successfully dismantling several terrorist camps and neutralizing over 100 militants linked to Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen.

The trophy revealed today is rich with symbolism, incorporating a cricket bat, a BrahMos missile, and a Rafale fighter jet, symbolizing the harmony of sportsmanship, military precision, and national power. This design embodies India's diverse defense capabilities and the country's unified national spirit.

The Army XI team, comprising serving army officers, police personnel, and district administration members, will be led by Brigadier Samrul Hassan. On the other side, Parliament XI, captained by Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari, will feature a roster of MPs and state legislators from various political parties.
