Army Chief Stresses Academia-Military Partnership at T-SATS to Propel Defence Innovation

During the ongoing Tri-Services Academia Technology Symposium (T-SATS), General Upendra Dwivedi, the Chief of the Army Staff, highlighted the importance of investing in advanced technologies and leveraging the potential of collaborations between academia and the military. This, he stated, is essential to address the challenges of future warfare.

General Dwivedi announced that more than 450 research proposals have been submitted via the newly launched T-SATS portal, with approximately 40% being shortlisted for further guidance from Subject Matter Experts. He emphasized the necessity of creating technology clusters, promoting internships, and establishing defence incubation cells nationwide to cultivate an innovative ecosystem.

The Army Chief stressed the importance of cooperation between academia, startups, and the defence sector to develop indigenous solutions suited for operational requirements. He asserted that large-scale innovation, driven by organized collaboration, is crucial for maintaining India's technological superiority in an ever-evolving security landscape.
