AIT Pune Secures Top Honor at Indian Army Terrier Cyber Quest 2025

The Army Institute of Technology (AIT) in Pune, established in 1994 under the Army Welfare Education Society (AWES), has achieved a notable accomplishment by securing the first prize at the Indian Army Terrier Cyber Quest 2025. This prestigious national cyber challenge, organized by the Territorial Army in partnership with CyberPeace, highlights AIT's significant contribution to the Indian Army community.
AIT's triumph was in the fiercely contested Datathon Track, centering on real-time cyber threat prediction and anomaly detection systems for defense networks. Competing under the theme 'Quantum Machine Learning for Threat Detection', the AIT team crafted an advanced AI-based analytical model adept at detecting cyber anomalies and potential intrusions across defense systems in real time.
The event drew over 6,300 participants nationwide, including elite institutions like IITs, NITs, IIITs, and professionals from leading cybersecurity companies. Amidst such challenging competition, AIT's innovative methodology, precise execution, and compelling presentation earned it the esteemed top position.
Held over 36 hours from October 6 to 7, 2025, at the Warden Centre in Delhi Cantonment, the hackathon tested participants' endurance, creativity, and technical skills. The AIT team was awarded a ₹1 lakh prize cheque by Major General S. S. Patil, Director General of the Territorial Army, after the results were announced on October 8.
Their achievement peaked on October 9, 2025, as the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Upendra Dwivedi, honored the team with the prestigious Millennial Trophy during a special ceremony at the 129 D Conference Hall, South Block, Ministry of Defence, New Delhi.
This event was a moment of pride for AIT and the entire defense education sector, which continuously fosters innovation, discipline, and technological progress among the youth.
AIT Pune, known for nurturing the children of Army personnel, has steadily transformed into a hub of research and innovation, particularly in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, and Robotics. Its recent success in multiple national-level hackathons underscores its dedication to merging academic excellence with technological relevance for national security.
The victory at the Indian Army Terrier Hackathon symbolizes the perfect blend of military ethos and modern engineering expertise, reinforcing that India's future defenders are trained not only in courage and discipline but also in cyber resilience and innovation.
