Air Marshal Tejinder Singh Takes Charge of SWAC, Indian Air Force
Air Marshal Tejinder Singh took over the leadership of the South Western Air Command (SWAC) of the Indian Air Force on January 1, 2026. Upon assuming command, he inspected a ceremonial Guard of Honour at the SWAC Headquarters and paid tribute at the Command War Memorial, in remembrance of the ultimate sacrifices made by air warriors.

Air Marshal Tejinder Singh, commissioned into the Indian Air Force in June 1987, is an accomplished fighter pilot with more than 4,500 flight hours. Throughout his career, he has led a fighter squadron, a radar station, and a major fighter base. His role as Air Officer Commanding in Jammu & Kashmir involved overseeing critical operations.

At the strategic level, Air Marshal Singh has held numerous vital staff roles, such as Assistant Chief of the Air Staff for Operations – Offensive and Strategy, Senior Air Staff Officer at the Eastern Air Command, and Deputy Chief of the Air Staff. Before his current appointment, he was in charge of the Training Command as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, where he managed the training doctrine and capacity building for future air force personnel.

As the Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Air Command, Air Marshal Singh will be responsible for one of the Indian Air Force's most critical operational areas, focusing on enhancing combat readiness, fostering joint operations, and bolstering capabilities along the western front.
